Intro to Fly Fishing Class

Kickstart Your Fly Fishing!

Galveston Fishing Company offers quality instruction in this small group class.  Designed to answer the questions you didn't even know you had about getting started in the exciting sport of fly fishing.

Class Schedule & Topics:

8:00a – 10:00a in the shop

• Species and seasons to fish
• Equipment and flies review

10:30a – 12:30p at the “casting park” *

• Fly casting fundamentals
• Basic fishing techniques

Class Details:

• Limited to 6 participants
• $30 Registration Fee
• Equipment for the class is provided
• Reservation required — register online (please include all class attendees' names in the Notes section), or call 409-974-4659, or stop by the shop
• Students 12 – 14 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult

*The casting portion of this class is at a public park about a 15 minute drive from the shop. Transportation not provided.  Please dress to be outside and standing for the duration of the casting class. The casting portion of this class is weather dependent. If high winds, uncomfortable temperatures, and thunderstorms are predicted students will be notified about changes in the class plan.
